Sometimes theme options are not applying because the permissions of some theme files and folders don’t allow to modify them.
To allow options to modify your site, please, check and set the permissions of theme\css (and options.php file inside) and theme\assets\css (and all files inside) folders to 777. You may check this post on how to do that via FTP.
This will make the theme options work properly.

Is it 777 or 755, I’m a bit confused
Hello, PHRED!
It has to be set to 777 for the specified folders and files inside of them.

If like me your host is WP Engine they will not allow a 777 for security reasons.
Hello, MARK ROOPE!
In this case we recommend you to try to set the permissions 755 or 775.

any other idea as the 777 did not help me?

LOL actually recommending people to change their permissions to 777. Are you nuts?
Hello, Matt!
This method is safe enough in this case, as we’ve checked it properly before recommending it people. Some servers of our clients do not give enough permissions on files and folders and that’s why the only way to apply the options properly on the site, is to set the 777 permissions particularly on style files and folders. ONLY on them. This does not interfere their security.

I am facing the same problem, website not applying the changes on theme options, I am on WP engine and it doesn’t allow for 777 or 775.
Can you please help, need to get this website live ASAP

Thank you, I’ve sent it.
I’m pretty sure you mean “and on the options.css file inside” not “oprions.php” yes?
Hello, OWENSKE!
Thank you for your attention! Yes, you are absolutely right.

Hi,
The theme options don’t show at all, when i click on them. I changed, like you said, the permissions of this specific folders and files to 777, but nothing happens. Still the theme options don’t show, just a blank page. The only way to change the theme options seems to do that with the Customizer. Any idea why the theme options don’t show the regular way (which would be much more comfortable)?
Thanks,
Axel
Hello Axel!
Please, mail us the WP, FTP access details and purchase code to [email protected]. Most probably you have added the wrong color somewhere in theme options (for example added 7 characters instead of 6) or there an error so you cannot see theme option.
Please let us check the issue.
Waiting for the details.
Regards, DFD Support Team
Hi Ellen
Thanks for your fast response.
I’ll send you the details in a few minutes, but i added no colors or something else in the theme options, i didn’t touch them at all, because they never showed in the WordPress backend.
Now, i tried to change a few things with the Customizer, but thats extremly slow and needs a loooooot of time.
Thanks,
Axel
